Hi. My mother in laws computer has a problem. Its an Acer Pc.

CPU fan runs full rip.
Seems to post fine but wont boot from HDD. (HDD booting in my PC)
Will boot from CDROM drive and loads recovery menu.
Recognises CPU and Boot menu drivers are connected.
System temp is 24C but its saying CPU temp is PECI mode 60 to 80 is this C or F???

Anything I can try?

Thanks

I'll have to try a good hard drive in theirs.

That isn't unexpected. The "known working" HDD contains a Windows configuration for different hardware. If her HD is readable on your PC but won't boot, you may be able to use the CD and repair. BUT if you can read the drive, you should BACK UP the important data on the drive before attempting a repair.

No. It is more than just the graphics drivers. It is the whole set of motherboard hardware that is mis-configured when you attempt to boot a foreign Windows configuration.
