Hello all, I am new to the site and have found so much useful information here and I am looking for some assistance! I loss power while updating BIOS on my ASUS Z-270A board, and now the red CUP_LED stays lit and no signal is going to my monitor. I am using a Pentium G4400, and everything was working prior to the bios update. Obviously, I came to find out that this BIOS update was unnecessary, so I have definitely learned my lesson with BIOS updates, I am just hoping I did not fry my board.

Thanks for any assistance!

your model seems to be capable of recover, if there is a procedure to unbrick it, try it with all the resources you have in hand, follow the great advices offered here

if nothing works, you could consider returning it to manufacturer, in last place buy another and don't forget the ups for future bios and firmware updates of other devices like printers, scanners, routers and similar stuff that can suffer these unfortunate results of a partial update
i wish you very good luck recovering this mainboard, would be a shame because is a good model

The manual states the following for CrashFree BIOS 3:

1. Turn on the system.

2. Insert the USB flash drive containing the BIOS file to the USB port.

3. The utility automatically checks the devices for the BIOS file. When found the utility reads the BIOS file and enters ASUS EZ flash 3 automatically.

4. The system requires you to enter BIOS setup to recover the BIOS setting. Hit F5 to load default BIOS values.

I have downloaded the file from ASUS and saved it onto a USB stick renaming the file Z270A.CAP . I powered up the board, inserted the stick, and then powered on the board, hitting the delete key on the keyboard, but the red CPU_LED light is li instantly.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions thank you for your continued help.

Thank you for the advice, as I will be sure to take further care in the future. Do you think there is a solution to this issue or is the motherboard bricked?

I still have not be able to solve the red CPU_LED issue, all the fans are running and the board seems to be working properly, minus the red CPU LED.

Thanks for your continued support.
