I began streaming in April, 2017 and my data usage has increased to over 1024 mb per month for one user/tv. I'm currently wireless. Would the usage decrease if I use the Cat6?

Solution
Do you mean 1024 GB? 1024 MB is about 1 gigabyte. Even the stingiest of mobile internet providers are happy to cap you at well over that. To answer your question, unless your wifi connection is seriously error-prone, you will not see any difference. The only way to use less data is to actively try to use less data. Streaming on a Roku? Go into the options and drop the quality to medium. Downloading large files? Do less of that. Things that use a lot of data:

Streaming video (youtube, netflix, hulu, etc), downloading large files (including via bittorrent, one way piracy can bite you in the butt), downloading large games or other software (Use Steam? Those downloads add up quickly), downloading entire galleries worth of high-quality art...

Streaming music, simple web browsing, playing games on facebook, playing online games in general (this can vary)

I would think there is less overhead on wired than wireless...but you wouldn't be charged for overhead internal to your own wireless network since it only acts as a router to something like cable (traffic between computer and a router isn't something which is normally measured and charged for...usually it is what goes between router and outside world).

However, if you were using wireless on a cellular modem, I'm sure the overhead would matter. Seems unlikely you are using a cellular modem.

A bigger issue is if someone is using your WiFi (either it isn't locked down or is using low grade encryption).

Yes I meant 1024 gb. With cable my usage was barely noticeable using internet and tv. Now that I'm streaming with PS Vue and Netflix with Roku it has been over 1024 gb for the last 3 months since April. I hooked up the CAT6 after posting the question to see if it makes a difference on the usage. I don't download files, game or do anything else other than watch PS Vue, Netflix or PBS. I'm currently paying an extra $50 via Comcast for unlimited data to prevent paying the overage cost. Also what is the most MBPS I need to stream? I had 100 with Comcast but was talked into upgrading to 200 MBPS when I cut the cord with them. I assume 100 is more than enough, right?

1024 GB is a terabyte...that would be a lot of data even if downloading a lot of movies.

Cat 6 will not increase or decrease that amount in comparison to your own internal WiFi network, though quality might be better and allow faster downloads in a given time. There are many services which exchange marketing data so if you've added services you may be seeing them uploading information. FYI, watching a movie is downloading it even if you don't save it like a regular computer file. Even getting an update on a schedule is a download.
