Right now i have
---
Intel Core i7 860 2.80 gHz
8GB DDR3 ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
Stock 350w Power supply
Stock motherboard

What i want to upgrade to
---
MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
16GB DDR3 ram
600w power supply
*I ALSO WANT A CASE THATS COMPATIBLE WITH XPS 8100 MOTHERBOARD BECAUSE STOCK CASE HAS BAD COOLING*

So, is there any cases on the cheaper side that will work? Is there anything wrong? Should i get more? Less? Other parts? Im new to upgrading PCs so let me know if im alright

Solution
The RAM info does tell me something. Your mobo has 4 RAM slots with each slot have a maximum of 4GB. If you have 8GB DDR3 already you must have 4x2GB sticks so to get to 16GB DDR3 then you would have to replace all your ram to get 4x4GB. I am assuming that you have a 64 bit OS otherwise you would only see 4GB of the 8GB of installed ram. The mobo will take up to 1333MHz speeds.

This RAM will most likely work

Having said that I would really caution you about spending this money. There is no real CPU upgrade possible on this...
Your requested upgrades would work well together although I question the need for 16GB of RAM in this low end rig. If you do want to upgrade with another 8GB then we would need to know the exact make and model of your existing to RAM to properly match. I do also caution that the i7-860 is an aging CPU which can be outperformed by a present day Pentium G4560. Having said this, most of what you are looking to purchase is not platform specific except the RAM.

Appears that your mobo is a standard ATX form factor so not much of a problem finding a case. Once we know the specs on the RAM we can add that to the build as well.

Thanks for finding a good case for me. I might skip out on the ram, i just wanted to future proof a bit more. Ill be in the market for a new CPU as well. I dont know what you need on the ram chip, but it says "Kingston 2GB 2Rx8 PC3 - 10600U" on it. Hope that info is useful

Having said that I would really caution you about spending this money. There is no real CPU upgrade possible on this platform so you would have to upgrade the mobo and RAM as well. Money spent upgrading DDR3 would be lost. If you are serious about the CPU then this is what I would get. The G4560/GTX 1050Ti is a great pairing and this build allows for RAM/CPU/GPU upgrades at a later date should you wish. You can see from this video that it is able to handle BF1 at 1080p Ultra settings without maxing out the CPU.
