The motherboard does not affect gaming at all. Honestly the only things I would look for in a motherboard for a 1600 are:
Overclocking (supported by B350 boards)
Aesthetics
and
How many RAM slots (4 slots is best as you can run dual channel and have an upgrade path)

this for my 1600, as it was the only white motherboard I could find (that was mirco-ATX).
