According to various sites the seagate STEB2000200 expansion drive should work with an Xbox one. According to seagate the drive isn't compatible with Xbox, yet according to other sites it's exactly the same drive as the Xbox game drive in a different case.
Initially it did work, for about a day...
Now, however, the Xbox will not recognise the drive. I've been through Microsoft and Seagate tech support, reformatted the drive on the PC and still nothing.
Not only that, but having the drive plugged in causes other issues on the Xbox as well.
1 Xbox will not connect to the internet (wireless connection)
2 Xbox 'loses' the controllers and will no longer pair wirelessly with any controller
3 Xbox controllers connected by wire (plug and charge kit) will take 3 or 4 minutes to be recognised by the Xbox
As soon as the drive is unplugged, everything goes back to normal and working (even though the drive never showed up on the system)
I have tried the usual things...
Hard reset of Xbox
Reformat of drive
Restore Xbox to initial settings
Different USB ports
Different controllers
Different cables
Although the drive is a year or so old, it's barely been used and was first formatted on the Xbox.
I'm open to ideas and suggestions, even if they come down to 'get a different drive' (in which case, please suggest a decent 2TB or more drive to use instead).
Thanks
