Greetings!

I wanna do a little uprade to my computer and am not sure if it is capable of!

actual specs:
250W PSU
p5q pro motherboard
intel q9550 2,83x4
ati hd4800
4gb ddr2

so i built this pc like 10 years ago. i only know that i did not cap the PSU to the components, but i am also not sure how much it will be capable of! hope u can help me with this one.

what do i want to upgrade it to?
4x 2gb ddr2 corsair xms
geforce GTX 1050 Ti

First i wanted to buy a 750 ti but seems that it ran out of stock. How is the 1050 Ti? Will it work on my computer? Is it a good card? It drains 15W more tho than the 750 so it would drain 75W. There would be an Asus and a Gainward Version. Which one would you recommend?

thx in advance,
i2573

The 1050Ti is a pretty good card, but you can sometimes find a GTX770 2GB or 4GB for cheaper on eBay. They perform nearly identical, with the GTX770 having a slight lead. If you were to upgrade to either of them, I'd recommend at least a 400w PSU to power all of it, for stability reasons. The 1050Ti is easier to find though and draws less power, so you should probably go with that. The RAM upgrade looks good too, though getting that much DDR2 could be a bit pricy for how much performance it will actually get you...

thanx for the quick answer!

threw in some googles quick and saw that my hd4800 is a real power sucker (for that amount of performance) with 110W! the upgrade to the 1050 will even decrease the amount of W needed which is nice!

- do i have to add any kind of adapter stuff related to connecting the 1050 ti to my p5q pro?
- do people remove the motherboard to change ddr?

-Unless you get a heavily overclocked card, you shouldn't need any connectors.

-You don't need to remove the motherboard.

Just link me the card you want to get and I can tell you if you need any connectors or not.
