Hello.
I'm a HW newbee and I am studing CPU upgrade.
My question is this: how do I know if a mainboard has been locked at 533 MHz and will therefore not take a 677 CPU?
Thanks a lot and best regards

Solution
I assume this is about your laptop. Unless the laptop had the option for those cpus, there is no way to know. The majority of laptop cpu upgrades are just a try or see deal because you can't get any info on them.

For a desktop, you can usually find a cpu support list. Prebuilt pcs tend to have less info but you'd find more info about other people upgrading.
