I have bought a EVGA FTW 1080 which require 2 8pins pcie connector.

However, my old PSU, Delta Serverpower 550w, got only 2 6pins connectors. The PSU spec said it has 3 sets of +12v of 18A each set. Is it enough to run this GPU? and can i get 2 6to8pins adaptor to run the card?

Thanks in advance.

Just because it has 3x 18A 12V rails does not mean it can provide all of that.
"Total Combined Power on +12V1, +12V3, +12V3 can't exceed 360W"

360 / 12V = 30A combined.

In theory, the 6 to 8 pin adapters should work just fine (1080 only requires 215W).

Generally, if the PSU doesn't have the appropriate connectors, you shouldn't use it.

The exception would be an older designed PSU, of high-end quality, that hasn't degraded much over time.

Considering all the info I can find on that PSU is ~10years old though, and even then it doesn't speak to the quality..... I would just replace it.

Personally, i would invest a small amount of cash in a new PSU. Maybe look at the Corsair RM550X or something from Seasonic - if you have the budget? This PSU that you have was never designed to be used with such cards, and i wouldnt want to trust it with a pricey GPU like that.
