I'm having some trouble with my newly built PC. I'm trying to install windows 10 via usb. When I get into the bios and hit boot manager I boot from the windows usb. I click on 64 bit and once it'd done loading files it takes me to the ASUS Rog splash screen where it freezes on a half loading circle. I tried this three times alreasy and the longest I waited was 45 mins. From all the videos I've seen it should boot straight to the windows 10 installation.
I don't know what to do, please help.

Parts: Ryzen 1700x, Asus crosshair vi hero, 16gb g skill flare x, 1080ti sc2

If it doesn't boot without any drives connected, it leaves very little room for issues. Unlikely it would be caused by the PSU or CPU. I imagine you have 2x8GB of memory? Try to power up only with 1 stick in... if it doesn't work...

You mean after the first restart of the installation process is when you are shown the ASUS Rog splash screen? Did you try removing the USB stick when the computer restarts?

No, I install the usb get into the bios and go over to boot priority. I select the usb so it can boot from it. Right after it takes me to the rog splash screen where it freezes. I don't even get into the windows 10 installer screen.

Ok, I understand now. "I click on 64 bit and once it'd done loading files" means from the Creator tool. First thing for you to check is the reliability of your USB memory stick. If you have another one around, create the Windows 10 installer on that one and see if it works. Be mindful to change the boot sequence correctly after the first Windows 10 Installation reboot otherwise it will keep booting from the memory stick and never complete the installation. Try this and let us know the result.

The usb stick is straight from microsoft. I recently tried installing the wndows 10 creation tool on to a different usb and the same thing happened. It gets stuck at the splash screen. Should i try unplugging my ssd and hdd and leaving in my m.2?

I was going to say that we have to look at the rest of your hardware, but you sort of answered. A M.2 drive will probably require additional drivers for Windows 10 Installation to see it, but you should still be able to boot into the installation so something else is going on. Test by removing all your drives (SSD, HDD, M.2, DVD). Only thing in your computer should be the video card. Now try to boot from the USB stick.

The goal here is to first troubleshoot booting from the memory stick successfully. If it boots fine without any drive, power off, re-install your M.2 drive ONLY, and try booting again. If it works, power off, re-install your SDD, try booting again, so on, so on.

So I tried disconnecting all storage devices and it still froze. So i decided to try and remove the ram and re-install it. When I turned on the pc the there was a yellow light under the q-led as well as an error code meaning something is wrong with my ram. I tried reinstalling it yet again and same thing happened. I'm starting to get real anxiety here since I spent all this money and can't even install windows and now my ram is faulty? Should I just try and send the ram back to amazon and get new ones?

If it doesn't boot without any drives connected, it leaves very little room for issues. Unlikely it would be caused by the PSU or CPU. I imagine you have 2x8GB of memory? Try to power up only with 1 stick in... if it doesn't work, try the other stick in, in the same slot. If it doesn't work, try the first stick, but in a different slot, and then second stick in the same slot, so on and so on. If it powers up with one stick but not the other = bad memory stick. If it powers up properly at some point in this test with either stick but one slot over the other, then it would be the motherboard. More than likely it is one of the two memory sticks. Rarely have I seen 2 bad sticks together. I have seen cases where something weird was happening with the memory slots on the board... it would work sometimes, other time not. That was a board issue.

I just got off the phone with asus and I fixed the ram issue by isntalling them into different slots. As for the freezing issue it still remains. I'll try updating the bios and installing windows right after. Let's see if it works.
