limit ram usage

hi, i have 8 gb laptop but i want to limit the usage of the ram on the system to 6 gb
i tried using msconfig and making the maximum memory in boot panel to 6144 but it always turns itself to be 3 gb
how to solve it and limit the usage of the ram to 6 gb?

th vram is set in bios, not in windows, windows doesn't have any way to set the vram

get in bios and set it there by yourself

if the bios doesn't have a form to force the gpu to take borrowed more vram, then you will have to find a way to modify the video driver to do a exact amount of borrowed vram, the driver existed for old intel gpus, don't know if exist for newer gpus

i want to limit it to increase the vram a little bit by the free memory , i made it before the ram usage was 4gb and 4gb free the the vram increased and the games run very smoothly
that's why i want to limit it .. when i bought my laptop it had 4gb but i bought another 4gb ram to increase the ram , so if i limit it to 6gb i think nothing will be harmed
