I built a new desktop pc yesterday and i have been noticing that internet is disconnecting and immediately reconnecting once every hour(not 100% sure but it sure seems like its every hour). Its a wired conection.
I'm pretty sure its not the cable because until yesterday i was using it with my old laptop without ever disconnecting on its own(over 10 hours a day for months with the laptop without disconnecting), i don't use firewall or any antivirus. I only tried uninstalling the LAN driver and re-installing it because i don't know what else i can do and it didn't seem to fix it. The mother is a MSI Z270 gaming plus so its an onboard network card and the OS is windows 10 pro 64 bit.
It works fine most of the time and there's no drop in speed or anything and since when it disconnects its the red cross instead of the yellow icon i can kind of rule out the router or something from the ISP side, i'm not really sure what else i can do aside from re-installing the driver and its becoming kind of annoying, is there a way to test what exactly it is that is causing this random disconnections?
If aditional information is needed to help test out and potencially fix this issue please ask away, i'm personally not all that knowledgeable about computer or networking things so its likely that i haven't provided enough information.
