I am little confused with my monitor and GPU

I have already ordered an Nvidia GTX 1050 with no VGA slot and My Monitor only has a VGA slot I know my monitor is old still . What should I do need instant help.

It needs to be an ACTIVE HDMI to VGA converter. Nvidia has dropped all analog outputs on their 10 series cards. You need something that actively converts the digital HDMI signal to an analog VGA one. As for degradation, that doesn't really matter. Unless you are willing to upgrade to a digital monitor you are stuck with what you have.

Word of warning, while the HDMI to VGA adapter will work I don't suggest using it. The issue is if you decide later to plug your PC into your TV, the HDMI port on your card is being used. The previously suggested active DVI to VGA adapter is a much better idea as it allows you to use the HDMI port later on.
