Hi everyone,

I think I may have broken my laptop. It has a 4-pin power connector and ithe connector is slightly broken. This means that it goes in in any orientation. Earlier, I accidentally plugged it in upside down and the laptop instantly shut down. Now I get nothing: No lights, no power, nothing at all. I've tried removing the battery and running it on AC power only, and removing the cable and running it on battery. Still nothing. Any ideas? This laptop is my life and soul, so I'm panicking right now!
Thanks

It might just be the jack. That's the best-case scenario. The worst-case is you need a new motherboard, which will likely cost nearly as much, if not more than, a new laptop of comparable performance to your current one.
