Just a quick and somewhat simple question...
Is it possible to install a Intel Core 2 Quad QX6800 Extreme onto this board?
I'm aware (from what I've read) this board wont recognize most if not all quad cores, but I'm wondering if there's some sort of BIOS flash/hack that will make it work somehow.
Keep in mind I'm not looking to buy new parts, I just wanna try to build something for the family using what I have.
Thank you for reading and attempting to assist, this should be an interesting build if I can get it working!

The go to CPU is the Q9650 or 9550. If a Q6700 runs then a BSEL pinmod to 3.33 GHz should work. You can tweak Voltage with Throttlestop software. Check your MB # 0M858 were Core2 only. I f you need a better MB 0C27VV will get you up to Opti 780 with 16GB DDR3 memory support. I have them both in front of me as I write.
I've seen a 780 at Userbench,com running a Q9650 3.6GHz.. I don't know which O/C method was used there. Maybe a BSEL pinmod to 400fsb?
