Are these GPUs compatible with a MSI 970A-G43 motherboard?

Hi all,

I'm planning on upgrading my GPU to either a MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB or MSI RX 580 Gaming X 8GB GPU (I currently have a MSI R9 270X Gaming 2GB). Are either of the two GPUs supported by the MSI 970A-G43 MB or will I have to upgrade that as well.

Also, is there any chance that the MSI 970A-G43 will create bottlenecks?

How extreme would the bottleneck be? How much of a drop in FPS can I expect to see in gaming when using the FX8350 as opposed to a suitable replacement (if you would please recommend one)?

It depends on your choice of game, resolution, graphics settings, refresh rate of your monitor, so can't really say how much FPS drops. and today's games need 4 powerful cores. if compared with latest CPUs, your FX8350 is lacking power.

Would, for example, the Intel i3 7100, i5 7500 or the new AMD Ryzen 5 1400 have better power i.t.o. gaming performance?

Yes, among above mentioned CPUs by you i5 7500 and R5 1400 would be a best choice. between these 2 1400 would be best bang for bucks and performs neck to neck with 7500 once overclocked.
