Hello I will probably be replacing my X4 840 with a X4 880k soon due to the fact that my X4 840 is at 93 degrees celcius even when idle.I've never replaced computer parts before,so Im not certain if I need to reinstall windows once replacing CPU's?

ah with just a CPU change you should be ok, but as long as you have a win 7 disc just in case

when changing hardware on win 7 you can sometimes need to system disc to run a repair (has happened to me on some previous PCs)

If you're on win 8 or 10, you can change hardware and all you need to do is reactivate

If it's win 7, then you'll have to re-install

Some people prefer to reinstall regardless to avoid any driver conflicts from the previous setup

I've replaced the mobo without re-installing windows and have never had an issue
