So I unplugged a single TB internal HD from my computer when giving it a clean out. For some reason it doesn't show up after reinstalling it. There is no clicking coming from the drive and it shows up when put in a caddy through USB.
The drive then seemed to be working. I took a new Sata Cable and plugged it in using that. Still nothing so I replaced the power cable coming from the power supply also. You guessed it., Still nothing lol...
It doesn't show up in disk management or device manager and I cannot for the life of me fathom why. I thought maybe I had tugged the cable and ruined the port it was plugged into. So I changed the port also but that didn't seem to do it. Is there some reason it works inside a usb caddy but not on my computer?
I am running a fairly high end i7 from 2012 sandybridge E hex core 3930k an 16gb 1600Mhz RAM with a 1070 Card, which has been more than enough for everything I do. Mainly virtual box as I study computer networking. As a student I really don't want to fork out on another drive and as I know this one works I'd prefer to get it working with internal SATA.
If any of you have any ideas as to what the problem could be please post and let me know. Thanks in advance for your time.
Cheers
