Overclocking CPU and GPU
Not sure what tempeture I should consider as max when stresstesting CPU (Ryzen 5 1400).
The last stresstest I ran was quite extreme and it hit 88C before I finally stopped it. I had prime95, cinabench, Heaven and Valley benchmark both running on highest setting, but with a low resolution. Did it to test out my fans, Everything was running 100% except for GPU fans but the temps woudn't stop raising slowly but surely.
Was the stresstest to extreme or do I need to buy a better exhaust fan for my case if I want my CPU below 85 at all times when gaming etc? (Using 2 shadowwings for intake and the fan that came with the case for exhaust)
During the stresstest all 8 threads were running 3.5ghz at 100% usage on default voltage. And my 1060 6gb were running around 100% usage on 8800mhz memory and 2038-2067 core clock. Voltage on GPU is not touched and stayed between 1.04v and 1.06v.
Long story short: Is that stresstest to extreme? Will I ever put this much load on my PC when gaming etc?
What ryzen 1400 temp is max for 24/7 usage?
At what temp should I stop a stress test to prevent my CPU from overheating.
UPDATE: Just went into BIOS and saw that voltage is set to auto. Does this mean that the motherboard will increase voltage on its own to make the system more stable?
I put everything back to default becuase I can't understand how it works, apparently voltage goes up to 1.505 when I put +0.000v in bios. Everyone keeps saying it's easy to overclock but it sure as hell isn't when the motherboard is changing stuff automaticly without letting me know.
