I just installed a new EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply and Asus - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB STRIX Video Card and now I have had my computer shut down twice because of the CPU getting too hot even though i was not playing a game. My processor is a Intel - Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor and my mother board is a Asus - MAXIMUS VII GENE Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard. I ran a test on Intel extreme tuning utility and within 15s the package temp went over 100 Celsius. I am running the stock heat sink and have never had issues with the cpu overheating before until i installed this new power supply and gpu, I also recently cleaned my computer and the heat sink and fan are mostly dust free. My PC is currently not under load and the package temp is around 68 Celsius. Any suggestions ?
