is it worth upgrading an i5 6600k?

I'm making a build, and I've pretty much narrowed everything down to just a few things, CPUs being one of them. I'm currently debating on wether to choose something besides the i5 6600k, any reccomendations?
My budget for a CPU is around $200 (the 6600k costs $188.75)

The 6600k is still a decent cpu and fine for a mid range build. But very few people are building with it mid 2017 as there are better options like the Ryzen 1600.
Whats your budget for the entire build excluding OS??? Perhaps we can suggest you some good parts in terms of performance.
