I'm on mobile sorry for formatting etc.
Self built pc has been working for a long time with no issues, most recent upgrade was in April - GPU and mobo.
Windows 10 64 bit
Last night had no problems. This morning it would boot into Windows and then freeze after a minute or 2. Literally looked like I was viewing a screenshot, everything just stops, mouse and keyboard LED are on but do nothing. The fans stay running, all other lights stay on too.

Reset bios, now I can't even get to Windows. Safe mode runs fine too. This screams driver issues. I went ahead and checked the RAM to no avail.

Here's the thing though...

I tried to reinstall Windows from the recovery menu and it crashes mid-install every time. What should I do?

I unplugged all my peripherals which didn't help either.

My setup is as follows
GTX 1080 TI
2x8 hyper x 2133 ddr4
3 HDDs
1 Samsung SSD with OS and critical programs
MSI motherboard
I7 6700k unlocked and unmodified

Someone please help

SFC/SCANNOW found corrupt files and repaired them but it's still crashing. Is there a way to get a log of the processes and services running because it would probably help a lot.

Took it to a shop and found out that my CPU cooler had a screw loose that was causing extreme CPU temps. Now makes sense that it would only work for a short time before crashing and had to wait for a significant time to get a functioning boot.
