Increased cpu temperatures after upgrading to water cooling?

I have just upgraded my cpu cooler to a corsair h100i v2 from a hyper 212 evo, however my cpu temperatures have only decreased 5 or so degrees. My cpu cooler was working fine until for some reason cpu temps went to 80 degrees, I removed the cooler and applied some arctic silver 5, never applied paste before, temps now seem worse than the pre applied paste by a few degrees, help ?!? Also the new cooler is stupidly loud

Many of the liquid coolers are hard pressed to keep up with the Noctua D14/D15....

Most like the radiator mounted in front for the coolest air input, but, not everyone agrees, and, not everyone's case is big enough to experiment with rear/top/front mounting...

Most are incline to think of paste as 'less is more'; rather than use the 'one pea' amount and hope it is squashed around equally, I use the 5 small BB method, and spread it manually in an ultra thin layer (pretty much can 'see through' the layer of paste and still read the writing on heat shield' levels of thin)

My case is haf x so is quite large but only supports top 240mm radiators unfortunately, the h100i v2 is supposed to be the best on the market hence why I got it
