usb 3.0 vs 2.0?

I am new to this stuff so go easy on me if this is dumb, but is usb 3.0 better for gaming(faster response time) than usb 2.0? My mouse can go up to 1000 hz, so would 3.0 be better or no difference?

For peripherals like mice and keyboards USB version makes no difference, those devices are not constrained by the bandwidth available on USB 2.0. USB 3.0's main benefit is higher bandwidth, so faster data transfers to and from external drives or having enough bandwidth to transmit a video signal and connect a monitor via USB.
