Just bought a new CPU, the I7 - 4790k. I have a MSI Z87 G-45 GAMING motherboard with an I5 - 4670k. I updated my bios from 1.2 to 1.9 with the I5 still in, rebooted and had no issues there. Installed the I7 - 4790k, booted the computer. Everything seemed to be on, lights on GPU, motherboard and various LEDS, heatsink was spinning (a little louder than usual). However, there was apparently no DVI-D link going to my monitor and I had just a black screen

- All cables were connected.
- Stock heatsink came with thermal paste, correctly applied and installed.
- No issues before the installation.

So I reinstalled my I5 - 4670k and hoped that I'd be able to boot back and see if the issue was my new processor, however I still had the same issues listed above. I cleared CMOS and also reset the battery but nothing is working. Please help! I might have already lost my hard-earned cash and I can't afford much more.

In the first paragraph I stated that I had a black screen, so the logo doesn't come up. And yes, the GPU works, I don't think that is why there is no DVI-D link. Should I try the integrated graphics only?
