my friend recently asked me to gather a parts list for a 2000$ cad pc (approximately 1500$ usd). he asked me because i recently upgraded my computer and learned a lot about computing. he want me to go full out and get a computer that can annihilate triple a games on the highest settings.. i have gathered a part list on pc part picker (https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/TheWildVon/saved/Zbr3CJ), however i am not a professional at this stuff yet though id like to be. i find this stuff really fun. i have come here to see your guys opinions and anything that should be changed, anything is appreciated!

Get this instead, use Win 10 Home, Pro isn't good for general consumer use.
He can chuck in an SSD and migrate OS later, best to spend on hardware initially, because an SSD is just a drop in upgrade, you can't pay the difference for a CPU or GPU later on, although with the EVGA 1080 you can use their step up program to go to a 1080 TI and just pay the difference which he might be interested in.

his current computer is really bad so he wants to get it asap, i like what you have but i must ask, why ryzen over the 7600k? does it perform better

 


Similar IPC so it performs slightly worse. Benefits are the extra 12 threads for certain uses and easy overclocking to match the Intel's IPC.
