First time builder here.. I know there are questions like this all the time but I just can't figure out what's wrong
So I got my whole build assembled, boot up first time and I get no signal from the gpu (Asus GeForce 1050 Ti 4G, I've seen some unboxers call it the "phoenix" model) video output through the hdmi port (tried on 2 different monitors). I removed the card, booted up just fine with the video output from the motherboard and downloaded the latest driver from nvidia's site but it says it can not actually install it without the card in place.
Problem is, when i reinsert the card I get zero output from either the motherboard or the gpu. Not only that, I can't turn the system off normally with the card in.. I have to flip the switch on the PSU to power everything down (that might be a minor thing I'm overthinking.. again, first time builder.)
The card I'm using draws all of its power from the motherboard; when I turn the power on the gpu fan IS running along with everything else that I can see.
I've checked the stickied checklist and I feel I've double and triple checked everything on it... I've checked a billion other threads, youtube vids, manuals and I've gotten nowhere.
Do I just have a busted card or is there anything I can do? Is there any way to boot up from the mobo output with the gpu in?
