Amd fx6300, msi 970a g43 overclock help

I want to overclock my amd fx6300 on the msi 970a-g43. I know the motherboard is not specifically good for overclocking and I want to know if it's worth the money to buy an aftermarket cooler for the cpu and it could be overclocked. Keep in mind I'm a newcomer to overclocking but I grasp the general concept and some details.

Yes, AMD-FX 6300 can easily be overclocked. A Hyper 212 Evo is cheap and can handle it very well.
