It is not clear to me if your fps issue is cpu related or graphics card related.
Shooter type games need good graphics.
Unfortunately, with the shortage of graphics cards prices of replacing your GTX1050 will be a bit high.
To verify that your cpu is capable, try this test.
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.
Your 500w psu will support a card as good as a GTX1070.
If you upgrade, I would do no less than a GTX1060.

I would also buy a 2 x 4gb ram kit upgrade. 4gb is too small.

If you need a cpu increase, you can replace your G4400 with a G4620...

Yes. A 1050 is still a capable card. you could also step up in cards, but your processor is a little dated. An i5 or Ryzen 5 I would say at the least to run some more modern titles. Also, would step the ram up to 8-16 gigs as well. You want to have at least a quadcore processor.

give your mobo a bios update, sell off your g4400, get an 7th gen kaby lake cpu (preferably the g4560 or the modest i5 7600 or maybe even the i7 7700), get the most ram your mobo can support (otherwise another 4gig stick with the current 4gig will suffice for now) and boom! a capable beast!
later : sell off the 1050, get a 1070 or a mid-range next gen card.
