There is a problem with my windows resolution which I can't seem to fix. I run a 1080p monitor that is connected with a DVI-D to DisplayPort cable to my 1070. Whenever I start up my pc or exit a full screened game, the resolution changes to 1360x768. Changing the resolution in the NVidia control panel doesn't seem to work, and when I change the resolution on window's setting panel, the resolution changes to 1080p, but goes back to 768 when exiting settings.

I am worried that the problem could be my 1070. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers many times, and tried my old 750ti in my system, which worked flawlessly. I have tried this with a 1600x900 monitor, and the same issue persisted. I have also tried using a HDMI cable. I am really stuck.

The resolution changes to 1360x768

I know i had a typo there.

I think what is happening and you are not going to believe this easily i bet, your integrated GPU is using signal pass though to run through the 1070. i know it sounds crazy but i recently upgraded from a 970 to a 1070 and had my card die within 8 hours and it started doing this and i finally figured out it was my Igpu running.

boot to bios and change your integrated gpu setting to disabled and the default adapter setting to PCIe 16x. then reboot. if your card is alive it should run without the resolution issue. if it is dead you will get no signal unless you put in your working 750Ti

My 1070 is not dead as far as I'm concerned. I can run games at 4k ultra just fine. And my motherboard doesn't have a integrated gpu. :/
