Refurb Pixel XL @ 425 USD vs New OnePlus 5 @ 479 USD

Hi all, I'm trying to decide between a refurbished Google Pixel XL for 425 USD and a brand new OnePlus 5 for 479 USD. I would like to know your opinions so that I can make a more educated decision. I already understand the benefits of each, but if you want to list them feel free. Finally, if you have any other suggestions for smartphones around the same price point (no higher than 500 dollars) please also list them and I will take a look. Thank you for the input!

I would get the Pixel because it will have a more secure OS since google pushes security patches to it on a monthly basis and if you are into having the latest version of android the pixel phones will be the first to get it

the key here is the refurbished word

i have used refurbished phones in the past with mixed results

pixel is very popular and it might be a unit returned for a dumb reason for the previous owner or a unit that had to be rebuilt in a lab thanks to a specific failure it had, sometimes you never know

is a bet, but since you do get full warranty on the phone is a option

personally i would go for the phone with the best camera, atm perhaps the pixel has that, other than that i would go for the one plus
