if it is a dell, you'll have a service tag on it somewhere. that's gonna be needed. if nothing else, open the case and identify the mobo model. this can also help identify what model it may be. can also go to the dell website and have it scan the system to identify what it is if it is a dell pc.

why do you want to know? perhaps knowing the exact model is not needed to do what you want.
