Headphones with larger cups than Kingston HyperX Cloud?

Hi guys, I've recently purchased a Kingston HyperX Cloud Core, and found the ear cups to be slightly too small------maybe I have larger than average ears, but to wear the Cloud Core, I have to bend my ears a little to house them inside the cups, resulting in discomfort.

I chose Cloud Core as it comes with oval cups. I did not choose Razer Kraken Pro V2 as it comes with round cups, which I assume would be even more uncomfortable, as human ears are oval by nature.

I will not consider 7.1 headphones as I'm using a 7.1 sound card, and do not want any fake 7.1" USB sound card on the headphone.

Please school me on a set of headphones with equal or greater sound quality, but with larger ear cups. I'm currently looking at Creative SB H5 - apparently it comes with larger cups.

You really should have worded the thread title "Headsets with larger cups than Kingston HyperX Cloud?"

When you say headphones, even in the post, it makes it sound like you want to switch to headphones.

Anyway, I found a site that shows earcup dimensions of some of the better headphones. Didn't bother checking for such a thing on headsets. I'll leave that up to you since you weren't concise with what you asked. That also may be why you've not gotten an answer yet. People don't like wasting their time on confusing posts.

Reason I used "headphone" instead of "headset", is because I do not require a mic. Therefore if people here could suggest headphones with larger ear cups, I'm more than happy to go with those.

I listed items such as Kraken, Cloud and H5 because while these are technically headsets, they do also work as headphones, and are within my budget of $80 to $120.

If you don't need a mic, don't get a headset. Part of the cost of building a headset obviously goes into the mic, so headphones will give you better sound in same price range.

I use the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 OHm, which I got at Guitar Center for $150, when they were $200 on the net. I've seen them as low as $105 on the net since buying them though.

I've also had Sennheiser headphones, and they have pretty large earcups as well, but aren't as sturdy construction as Beyerdynamic.

Just saw these DT 770 Pro 80 Ohms new on ebay for $100 starting bid, and $130 buy now. Shipping is $20, so I would start with a bid and see if you can get them for no more than $110. Pictures shown verify they are new. The earcups look like they haven't even been worn. Offer up a $100 bid and see what happens. Sometimes you get lucky. There's no bids yet, and about 2 days left on the auction.

Keep in mind these are closed back "studio" type headphones, so they seal out most of the outside sound. Wearing them while gaming, or listening to music, TV or movies can make it hard to hear deliveries, watch alarms, others speaking, etc. They have excellent sound though, with full but not boomy bass, and very detailed highs. I find them to be very good for gaming, movies, music, and TV.

I just checked. Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro demands $280 CAD (I'm in Canada).

My budget is only $80 to $120. Looks like I'll have to settle for a "gaming headset", like the Cloud, H5 or Kraken.

Which brings back to my original question--------any headsets / headphones out there with equal sound to Cloud, but larger cups, at $80 to $120?
