Hello, I have a problem with my connection and not sure what to do
Last night there was a huge storm in my area and my connection went out completely, I called my isp and they send a technician to replace the router as the first one was apparently damaged. Now the problem was that I couldnt connect the router to my pc with the ethernet cable like I always used to, it didnt detect anything ( the cable was fine cause it worked with another computer ). I tried a few things, turning the adapter on and off, uninstalling and reinstalling, I did a system restore, none of which worked. I searched a little and found a suggestion to play with internet adapter advanced settings ( speed and duplex ), it was set to auto by default, i tried all the options and only 10 mb full duplex works right now, otherwise it wont detect the cable and leds dont light up. The problem with that is my connection is now worse and slower and my ping in games goes up about 20+ which may not seem like much but because of my location its already high by default and it does make a difference. My network adapter is realtek PCIe gbe family controller, drivers are up to date. Any help would be appreciated
