Hi it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me overclock my i5 6600k on motherboard "asus maximus v111 ranger". The cpu I intened to OC is i5 6600k, and i would like to OC to 4.5ghz, where stock is 3.5ghz.

Im new to the overclocking experience so all advice is welcome. Any guides that are applicable to my specifications would also be welcome. I had a look for some guides but I couldn't find any for this particular board and cpu.

I would also like to add that I cannot select xmp in bios for my memory. If i locate enable/disable xmp setting it only allows me to see and select disable. Is this to do with the ram i ordered or is there something wrong with the latest bios version (which i do have). following link is the RAM i have -

I tried to wing it and used a brief online video guide but i kept on ended up with a pc that didn't boot (had to clear cmos to fix).

In an ideal world I would like to open a step by step guide for dummies that practically holds your hand through the process in a gradual and safe manner for my PC.
