My wireless adapter is struggling! It has a very slow download and a fast upload and I can't figure out why. I tried reinstalling the driver with no luck. It's not the network, it's in an office and everyone else's internet is fine
My computer
I7 7700k
Nvidia gtx 1080
Asus z270 prime-a
250 ssd
2t hdd
Tp-link archer t9e

Download
1.23 mbps
Upload
30.00 mbps

It likely is, but just wanted to check the setup.

With the wide varieties of adapters likely in there, I can only suggest replacing the Wifi adapter if driver updates haven't helped.
Looks like you're not the only one with problems though: http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?94604-Archer-T9E-Slow-speed
And there is a suggestion to go direct to the Broadcom drivers, but I'd ensure you;'re looking at the same chip being used - just incase.

Worth a try before replacing.

There are almost zero obstacles in-between me and the router i am just across a medium sized room (nothing a router cant handle) The router is a commercial one that works just fine. It has both frequencies and i tried both getting about the same result. everyone has their own computers or laptops so they are all using different adapters. I believe it is a problem on my computer

Did you try the driver first? Any luck there?

As for a new adapter.... there are lots of options. Just ensue you've got an antenna with a decent length. Avoid the PCIe cards with fixed antennas on the rear, and USB adapters that are just sticking out of the port.

You don't need to break the bank either, as there are many in the <$50 range. The added $30+ isn't likely to net you any better in quality, really.

For example, I use this USB3.0 adapter and it works flawlessly for me.

This Gigabyte PCIe option is pretty much the same chip I had onboard on my prior mITX build, and it's reliably too.
