I have two Radeon R9 290 graphics cards in my system, is it worth me forsaking these two in favour of one Radeon R580 nitro +
Or should I just stick with what I have for now?

Stick with what you have for now. It's a slight downgrade or a sidegrade at the very best. Only when something better comes along such as the 1070 or something within the higher end of the upcoming Vega line of GFX cards would I make a change.
