So some backstory: I got a new Cpu about a week ago, I upgraded from an i5 4670K to an i7 4790K, and everything was all good. I mainly play overwatch, and never noticed anything wrong with the performance. Today, out of nowhere, I started to just get lag spikes in game and wasn't sure why, my frames are locked at 70, they'd sometimes freeze for half a second and drop to 20-30 briefly. I'm running 2 x 4gb sticks. 8Gb of Ddr3. I've literally never had this issue before. Someone suggested updating my killer network card drivers, already have the newest drivers. Scanned for a virus with Anti-Malwarebytes, nothing. In my memory usage, it literally says the process using the most memory is chrome if its open. Right now I literally only have task manager and two tabs of chrome open and I'm at 90% ram usage. This literally just started today, I have no idea what to do at this point, I'm considering trying switching the ram sticks to the other two slots but I doubt that'll work. Is it possible that I have malware? I haven't installed or downloaded anything dodgey lately, so I'm just so confused how this just happened.

I don't no, although I use something similar called frostwire and I thought that's what it was, but it isn't even running in the background and I even tried uninstalling it. Something odd did happen after I posted this though. I prompted to run the memory diagnostic tool at reboot to see what was wrong, and windows actually found nothing, but when it restarted my memory was floating at around 20% at idle, and rose to about 30-40 when I opened up more programs. So I think the problem is kinda fixed? It's still more memory usage than I'd like, but at least my pc doesn't lag when I just move my mouse over icons anymore.

Edit: don't know if I mentioned this earlier, but I wasn't even able to tell what was using the memory before. My task manager is still saying now that the ~780mb im using of memory is 40% of what I have (8gb) which isn't true at all, so I'm still pretty frustrated.
