I have an old cpu(core2duo e8400) thats is 4.2 ghz oc....it overheats alot like 95° so i decided to try something on it
-running stock cooler-i want to replace the thermal paste with a pad and add alot of paste above it.
will this affect my cpu temp? or its just a big failure?

Ok, you need to understand, applying a lot of thermal paste doesnt have any benefits... You can try coolermaster mastergel maker nano or Arctic MX4 . I personally prefer and use coolermaster mastergel maker nano, add a sufficient amount and you are good to go. I will suggest you get a cooler master 212 evo or any other custom heatsink you prefer because oc'd 4.2 GHz is a lot you are asking for the stock cooler to handle.
And oh, about thermal pad, am not so inclined toward that thing. Its just my personal opinion. Better get a good paste and a custom cooler.
