I have had this problem once before, it took a week or two but it figured itself out somehow.
Basically I'm using wifi, I don't have access to the router. As of a couple days ago just randomly, whenever I start up a game either multiplayer or a game that is single player with no multiplayer component at all, my internet will disconnect, I have it set to automatically connect, so when I alt-tab, it reconnects just fine and I will have internet as long as I'm alt-tabbed, going back into the game it'll last maybe a minute or so before kicking me off again.
I thought maybe multiplayer games were overloading the router (for some reason even though it's usually fine) but then it shouldn't be happening in completely single player games either?
I have googled it and read other similar sounding issues here, but none of them are quite like my issue, it's not Just multiplayer games or an individual game, and the internet reconnects if I alt-tab.
Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7 3770K @ 3.50GHz
RAM
16.0GB
Motherboard
MSI Z77 MPower
Graphics
GTX 680 (EVGA)
I do have a dedicated wifi card, it's a TP-Link - TL-WDN4800
It shows up as: Qualcomm Atheros AR938x Wireless Network Adapter
