Hello, this is my first build. I have installed everything and done all the wiring except for connecting the CPU to the PSU. My problem arises with the cable provided for me to use by my power supply. It is a 4+4 cable and the socket on the mother board is 8 pin. Yet one of the 4 pin sides is keyed differently(has rounded tops as opposed to squares on every pin). When combined, both pins still fit due to the nature of the rounded tops fitting into squarely shaped holes of the socket. The connector fits even though it is keyed incorrectly, so my question is: Is this right or wrong.

Solution
It's correct. The 4+4 cable, despite the rounded shape of some keys, will fit and be wired correctly in the 8-pin socket (even on the square-shaped keys) of your MB.
