Okay, so I've been earning some money during my 4 mos. summer break and I've been planning for years for a PC build since I'm also taking an IT course and would like to play some games too.
so here's my build:

CPU: Ryzen7 1700 (should I stick with the stock cooler or Hyper 212x?)
MBD: Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3
RAM: Corsair LPX 1x8gb ddr4 2400 (eBay bid, should I swap to 4x4gb?)
PSU: Corsair VS650 (from current build)
GPU: EVGA 980ti hybrid
--4 HDDs, 3 monitors,
--still earning for an SSD, case and proper PSU.

for the last months, my first plan was to get an i5 kaby but things changed when the ryzen nation attacked so since then I changed to 1600 & x370(for fanciness) but then changed to 1700 & b350 since its almost the same price.
Sorry if this might be an inappropriate thread but I can't help to be paranoid because this is all my summers earnings and it's my first ever build.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.
Please do Critic the build.
Cheers!

Solution
You want 1) 16gb ram, 2) 3000 MHz ram. It makes a pretty large difference with ryzen as the infinity fabric speed is tied to Memory speed.

Also.dont use the vs650 for a PSU the vs means very s***ty

Look something like a seasonic 620evo/Corsair cxm 650/EVGA supernova B2/B3/bq in a 650

I'd suggest that the 1700 and 980 Ti Hybrid are unnecessarily expensive and a better combination would be a 1600 and GTX 1070. If you can, add another 8GB of RAM as well.

Whilst the 980 Ti is still rather powerful, it's also about 18 months old and won't benefit from driver updates in the same way the GTX 10xx series will.

I would recommend the cryorig H7 or if you want to put a little more money towards it the cryorig H5 ultimate both are much better then the hyper 212 both in performance and appearance.

As for the ram getting 1 stick of 8gb is fine as long as you plan on adding another stick of the same 8gb of ram so you can take advantage of the dual channel. Otherwise 2 sticks of 4gb is better.

ooh. thanks, bro.
well, then I might sell the 980ti then either get a 1080 or 1070 fe so I can still use the hybrid.:D
still earning for that 8gb of ram.:D

yeah, my thoughts too on the PSU. haha.
but for now, i just need to keep the system running while I earn for it.
Will it damage my components if I use it for about 1-2mos though? or should I really need to get a PSU before I build the system?
And yes, still earning for the ram. whats the difference if I use 2400 instead of 3000?

With ryzen everything speeds up with faster ram. The "fabric" that connects the two ccx cores runs at the speed of the ram, so anything that mist go from one side of the CPU to the other is sped up dramatically with faster ram. I'm not sure I'd use that psu in a high end build. Im not sure you can reuse your 980ti block for a 1080/1070. Also a 1070 is basically a wash with a 980ti so no way would I consider that change.

I already have the 212x which my brother doesn't use anymore. also, I just ordered an ml120 to stick it up into the other side of the cooler for a push/pull. do you think this will work?
as for the memory, when it arrives I might sell it then go for a 4x4 or just wait and earn for another 8gb.haha
still earning for the ssd and psu tho.:/

Thanks for your advice!

OOOhhhh. thanks for that info. will be keeping that in mind.
someone on eBay did a swap of 980ti hybrid to a 1080 fe. But will still do my research.
ok so i should get a decent psu asap.
