Need help setting up z906 speakers

Hi all, i just bought new speakers (Logitech z906) and hooked them up via analog connections.
Everything working fine but i figured out that in order for them to decode DTS properly i need to setup a digital connection.

So i googled and i am overwhelmed by so many different terminologies. Spdif/coaxial/optical that my head literally became swinging for a sec. Truth be told i never setup a home theater system myself and i don't need anything fancy, i am just trying to figure out how to connect the speakers to my sound card via digital connection, i.e. what kind of cable i really need to buy.

My sound card is Creative X-Fi Titanium (SB0880) and speakers are Logitech Z906. I even googled some visual pics but yeah i am still too dumb to figure out what kind of cable i really need. If some audiophiles can explain a bit or just lemme know which cable to order then i would be really thankful.

Not having your cables in hand, it's a bit hard to tell how to do the connections so I'll show 2 options.

The S/PDIF cable goes from port #2 on the sound card to "Optical - Input 3/4" on the subwoofer.

Or if you only have the cable with 3.50 mm (1/8-inch) plugs, they connect to the green port #6 "Line Out 1 jack" on the sound card and the green "6 channel direct - Input 1" jack on the subwoofer

Assuming you are using a Windows computer with the sound card, you may also need to change the default device selection in the Control Panel->Sound->Playback tab depending on which cable you use. Select "Digital Audio" with the S/PDIF cable and "Speakers" with the 1/8" plugs cable.

And it appears you'll have to cycle through the options on...

First of all, thanks for reply mate.
No i don't have any cable, the speakers came only with analog connectors, no digital cable i have checked thoroughly so i am gonna order the cable online (or might visit the retail store which is like 5 minutes drive from my home) but first i need to figure out the correct connectors.

The first option you listed means S/PDIF cable goes to S/PDIF out Jack in my audio card and Optical input 3/4. Just to confirm, 3/4 on my woofer shows two ports so should the cable have two ends to plug into sub woofer or only one?

As I read the instructions, that speaker system has two independent digital input sockets, and on its front panel you have a button to cycle through the various inputs available. You need only ONE digital cable from the audio cards' digital output socket (2nd from bottom) to ONE of those two sockets on the speaker panel. Then just select which input connector you are using.

The speakers claim they have all the decoder requirements for DTS digital signals and will just handle the job for you.

i have the same speakers and soudblaster ZXR soundcard i am using it with optical cable with optical/Out port from my sound card

Thanks all for valuable input. I am gonna go out to my retail store and pick up the cable. It sucks logitech didn't bother to include a $5 cable in $300+ speaker set.

As comparison, i recently bought an Asus 4K monitor and it came with a DisplayPort 1.2 cable, HDMI 2.0 cable & a DVI cable. Gotta love Asus.
