Hi everyone,
I have recently finished building my brand new computer, specs are:
Ryzen 1700x cpu with corsair h100i v2 cooling
16GB DDR4 3000 mhz corsair led ram
B350M Pro Gaming Carbon Motherboard
275GB SSD Crucial
2TB Seagate Firecuda
EVGA 650W 80+ gold PSU
R9 290X with kraken g10 bracket and x41 cooling (temporary gpu, will be replaced with gtx 1080)

So basically I did the fresh build yesterday, everything booted up fine. I went into the bios to change the boot priority and such then i left to grab my windows usb and came back to a black screen. So i restarted the computer plugged in the windows key and began to go through the intial setup thinking the first black screen was random. After making it to the page that asks which drive to install windows on, the monitor went into powersaving mode and went black. The computer continued to run with all fans working just no image on the screen. This leads me to believe that its the gpu timing out or something like that. Now I am using a temporary gpu as I am still waiting for my 1080 to arrive but the r9 290x came out of my old computer which runs perfectly fine and was working just fine 10 minutes prior to me removing it.

If anyone has any help in regards to a fix it would be greatly appreciated. Note, I am looking for an old VGA cable to see of that keeps the screen up longer
