I just recently built this computer. It was working fine and one day the screen just went out, black, monitor is in hibernation. I figured it was the graphics card and bought a brand new 2gb ddr5, only to find out that the graphics card wasn't the problem. I changed monitors, ones I knew were good because I just unplugged them from a working computer and the same thing happens. I even changed the motherboard because I thought it was the pcie slot. I'm at a loss now. My psu should be more than enough too. Any time I try to do anything to it, I can't see because the screen goes black. Even in safe mode so there isn't a way for me to change the resolution or anything because I can't see. I've tried with different vga cables and with an hdmi, and still nothing.

My specs: AMD FX4300
Asus 970 motherboard
500w psu
2x 2gb ddr3
1x pci lan card
1x 2gb ddr5 graphics card.

I've heard it could be the RAM or the hard drive as well, I was thinking if nothing else worked I would reinstall the OS on the hard drive.

Solution
Okay so, I got it all fixed. Here's what did it for me. I took out the cpu, no bent pins, so I ordered a new PSU, I get it, put her in, and nothing. No changes. Still no image on the screen. Luckily I came across the RAM card I had been looking for. I changed out the RAM for the new ones, the computer boots right up, picture and everything! I just wish I had found the RAM cards earlier, but I'm twice as happy it's fixed.
You have a screen till windows boots?
Is the gaphics card connected with a PCIe power connector?

Which power supply is it? Brand and model please.

Which graphics card is it exactly ?

Try booting Ubuntu live to verify whether it´s a windows driver error or not
