If I have a video card (1050Ti) with Displayport out, should I use it instead of HDMI?

Hi folks. Just recently purchase a Gigabyte 1050Ti OC which has HDMI and Displayport outs. I know DP has some advantages but I'm guessing that would be if I was going to go DP to DP. Just wondering if there are any advantages in going DP to DPtoHDMI adapter to connect to my receiver HDMI input. Thanks.

There is no difference with HDMI or DP unless you are going to be using high resolutions and refresh rates, and if you are using an adapter, that is totally useless to do.
