Quick RAM question

Hello all,

I currently use Corsair Vengeance PC Memory 8GB 2x4GB DDR3 240-pin 1600MHz
I was wondering if i added an extra 1x8gb of the same type will it cause any issues?
I read somewhere a long time ago you had to install the same RAM otherwise it could cause hardware problems...im not sure if that is still the case with today's hardware lol.

There is a small possibility that it won't, but it will probably be fine. As long as it's the same frequency it should work, I'm using 3x4gb sticks that have different timings and it works fine.
