Stuck on erasing screen!

Im not sure if im allowed to post something about my android phone on Here, but ill try anyway.

So, ive had my asus zenfone 2 for about 2 years now and it has started to become slow, so I decided to factory reset it. However, it has been over 4 hours now and it is still stuck on the "erasing" screen. What do I do? Or what can I do? On all the forums ive read have said that it should only take 30 minutes..

Well if whatever was causing the slow down was related to the built in storage, that explains why it's taking so long and may not be recoverable.

POssible it's something else, but slow performance and unable to format can point to built on storage issues. Was everything slow on you?

I let it go overnight and it was finished when I woke up. Just weird because it should only take up to 30 mintues. And resting it did speed it up.
