Plugging in storage devices shorts mobo!

Hey everyone!
Over the last 15 or so weeks i have had a terrible issue with my PC. It all started when i bought a samsung 850 evo 256GB ssd and a normal WD 1tb blue hard drive. I bought a 6 pin to sata female connector, and a 4 way sata male connector. When i put this in along with some ram my PC shorted. 8 motherboards later i finally found out that when I plug in the ssd and hard drive it shorts the board (the reason I didnt find it before was that there were other issues that I thought where causing it, i acidently bent a pin in the usb 3.0 connector or I thought the case shorted it etc). I know the problem isnt to do with the cables because I changed them and it still didnt work...

The only thing i can think is that either the port in the PSU where I plugged it in is dodgy, or having to storage devices wired up by one cable causes this.

Does anyone know of anything that can help me distinguish why this is happening? I dont want to go through another 8 motherboards!

PS: This is the first time I am writing on this forum, sorry if i get anything wrong!
PPS: When i tried to submit this it didnt work so im trying again...

I cant seem to log into the website atm, maybe because the user i made is brand new. It consists of a 6 pin male to 6 pin female, to a 6 pin male and two female molex, to a double male molex and a female molex (both female molex and a male molex is not being used) to finally a male molex and two sata power connectors. I hope you can follow that!
I went to maplins to get these cables, although i thought i needed them a lot longer than a actually did so thats why there are 4 sections.
I will try later to upload a image, but it will be from my phone.

Ok, so you have a 6 pin PCI connector plugged into a molex splitter which is then connected to a SATA power connector string.

I think I know what is happening here...

The splitter you have may be meant to feed power in the opposite direction. Basically, that molex power is meant to take two molex connectors and feed power to a 6 pin connector. The way you have it is forcing power to try and push backwards against crossed lines. This is causing feedback in the PSU which is causing a surge. This surge spreads along the system and is frying your motherboard.

Does your PSU have dedicated SATA or molex connectors? You need to be using those.

Well i dont even think there are any molex connectors that come with my PSU by the looks of it. Its a corsair 750w bronze PSU of sorts. I can see what you mean but then that still wouldnt make sense that the motherboard shorted the first time with a 6 pin to 4 sata powers.
The sata power cables came with the case (enthoo primo), and they are all being used, thats why I bought these cables.

Also, I cant log in with my phone although it has "saved" the password. No password resets can be sent to either of my emails, so i will have to check later on that image.
