1080 or 1080 TI

Hi guys,

I'm ready to upgrade my graphics card but I'm stuck between buying a Asus Strix 1080 or the Asus Strix 1080 Ti .

My current card is a Asus HD 7970,
I like maxing out setting but not gaming in 4K only using a LG 32" Ultrawide monitor. And won't be looking to upgrade to 4K anytime soon.
Where I'm located in Sydney Australia the cheapest Asus Strix 1080 card brand new is $969 and cheapest Asus Strix 1080 Ti is $1400.

So my question is I have the money for the 1080 Ti , but is it really worth the extra money and will I really use the card to its potential.
Games I play
WoW, Battlefield 1, Skyrim, GTAV, Witcher 3, CoD and more or less other open world games

Not sure of the Ti is worth the almost $500 premium?

No, it's really not for that price.

Ouch, I guess living outside the states have jacked up prices. :/ The 1080Ti is only a 30% gain over the 1080 for FPS and I think Witcher 3 is the only game that really will see the benefit of that. The rest of those games don't need 150-200FPS.

Thanks for the response I decided to go for the Asus Strix 1080

should receive it today.
As much as I would love the 1080 Ti, I would never use its full potential and I have future proofed myself with the 1080 .
